Pete Winger

Pete Winger started his accounting career back in the late 1980’s working part time as the accountant for the family cheese manufacturing company, Winger Cheese, Inc. in Towner, ND. In 2007 he began working full time in the accounting and financial reporting field when he became the CFO of a real estate investment trust. As the REIT grew he was part of the team that went through the challenging process of registering with the SEC and then filing the required 10-Q quarterly and 10-K annual reports. During this time he also earned the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certificate from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).

In 2015 he started WCI Tax & Accounting to provide accounting and tax services to small businesses and individuals. As a former small business owner and CFO he has a solid understanding of the need for small business owners and self-employed individuals to spend more time making their businesses successful and less time on accounting and tax compliance. During the last five years Pete has provided accounting and tax preparation services to self-employed individuals, partnerships, and small businesses as well as for several individuals. He is an Enrolled Agent and QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor.

Pete Winger holds a B.S. in Accounting from St. John’s University (MN) and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He lives in Minot, ND and has been married to his wife Kimberly, a retired school teacher since April 1997. His daughter Karolynn attends Minot State University (MSU) and works part-time at MSU and Scheels in Minot.
